Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long can I expect therapy to take?

The length and frequency of therapy can fluctuate depending on the particular concerns that you are hoping to address, as well as your history, trauma, and individual needs and goals for treatment. R & S Health Initiative offers a free consultation to discuss the therapy process and your specific concerns to help form a plan for treatment.

2. Can I use my insurance?

To provide our clients with confidential, effective treatment without restrictions, R & S Health Initiative has chosen to stay out of network. If you are hoping to utilize your insurance for treatment, R & S Health Initiative can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company to receive possible reimbursement for therapy sessions. Contact your insurance company for additional information and out of network benefits. Health insurance does not typically provide coverage for couples therapy (Z-codes) or sexual concerns when billed directly.

3. What are your rates?

Intake Session: $210

Couples Therapy: $190

Individual Therapy: $190

Sessions are typically 55 to 60 minutes in length. Sliding scale/reduced fees are available on a limited basis.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

4. Do you offer virtual therapy sessions?

R & S Health Initiative is currently offering therapy sessions via telehealth and in-person. Please speak with your provider to learn more about telehealth services and safety precautions/measures for in-person sessions.

5. What is the cancellation policy?

R & S Health Initiative asks clients to provide a 48-hour notice for cancellations.  Missed appointments, “no shows,” or late cancellations will be charged the full rate of the scheduled session. Cancellations can be provided any time of day/night, as well as on weekends. Please speak with your provider if you have additional questions.
